FAW Group (First Automobile Works) is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Changchun, Jilin. Founded in 1953 as a key project under China's First Five-Year Plan, it produced the country's first domestically made truck (Jiefang CA-10) in 1956 and the first luxury car (Hongqi) in 1958, and has since grown into one of China's largest automakers through joint ventures with Volkswagen, Toyota, and Mazda.
