The 2023 Formula 1 season was dominated by Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. Verstappen won a record 19 races and secured his third consecutive World Championship at the Qatar Grand Prix. Red Bull won 21 of 22 races, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz claiming the only non-Red Bull victory in Singapore. The season also marked the debut of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Season Opener: Bahrain Grand Prix

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: Perez Wins

Sergio Perez won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix while teammate Max Verstappen charged from 15th on the grid to finish second after a driveshaft failure in qualifying. The result demonstrated Red Bull's superior pace and the intra-team competition.

Record Breaker: Italian Grand Prix at Monza

Max Verstappen won his 10th consecutive race at the Italian Grand Prix, breaking Sebastian Vettel's record of 9 consecutive wins set in 2013. The victory at Monza cemented Verstappen's place in Formula 1 history.

Streak Broken: Singapore Grand Prix

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Grand Prix, ending Max Verstappen's 10-race winning streak and Red Bull's perfect season. Sainz became the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race in the entire 2023 season.

Championship Clinched: Qatar Grand Prix

Max Verstappen officially clinched his third consecutive Formula 1 World Championship at the Qatar Grand Prix, securing the title after the sprint race on October 7. He went on to win the main grand prix, further extending his dominant season.

Las Vegas Debut on the Strip

Formula 1 returned to Las Vegas for the first time since 1982 with a spectacular night race on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Max Verstappen won the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix despite early contact with Charles Leclerc, adding another victory to his remarkable season.
