The 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship was the motor racing championship for Formula One cars which marked the 70th anniversary of the first Formula One season. The season was heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a delayed start and a heavily revised calendar of 17 races. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won his seventh World Drivers' Championship, equalling Michael Schumacher's record, while Mercedes secured their seventh consecutive World Constructors' Championship.

Season Opener in Austria
The 2020 season finally commenced with the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. Valtteri Bottas won the race for Mercedes, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished second after a penalty for Hamilton.
This is a map of the w:en:Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A1-Ring and the Österreichring, in w:en:Spielberg, Austria. It shows the circuit as it has been in the period spanning 2017-2021. Corner numbers are marked with the numbers "1" through "10", the start/finish line is marked with a checkered flag and a large arrow showing a direction of travel. The dashed lines show the sectors in roughly the same colours that Formula One's official graphics do, although this has been edited to fit with a colour palette intended to reduce the likelihood of issues occurring for colourblind viewers. Sector 1 is salmon, sector 2 is cyan, and sector 3 is yellow. The location of these sectors was sourced from the FIA's official Formula One circuit map. The arrow marked "N" shows the direction of north. The track layout is in black, while the pit lane is shown in blue. This map is accurate for Formula One races held at the venue starting from 2017, when the corner numbering system was changed, until at least 2021. Corner names are not provided as they seem prone to change frequently with sponsorship deals. 70th Anniversary Grand Prix
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Formula 1, a second race was held at Silverstone. Mercedes struggled with tire blistering, allowing Red Bull's Max Verstappen to claim victory and become the first non-Mercedes winner of the season.

Grosjean's Horrific Crash in Bahrain
Romain Grosjean survived a terrifying crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix when his Haas car penetrated the barrier and burst into flames. The race was red-flagged for over an hour, and Grosjean escaped with burns to his hands, missing the final race of the season.
