The 2019 Dakar Rally was the 41st edition of the event, held entirely in Peru from January 6 to January 17, 2019. It featured 10 stages. Nasser Al-Attiyah won the car category, Toby Price won the motorcycle category, Eduard Nikolaev won the truck category, Nicolas Cavigliasso won the quad category, and Francisco López Contardo won the SxS/UTV category.
The 2019 Dakar Rally kicked off in Lima, Peru, with a 331 km special stage from Lima to Pisco. Nani Roma won the opening car stage, while the motorcycle stage was taken by Honda's Ricky Brabec.
Stage 3 covered 800 km with a 295 km special stage. Nasser Al-Attiyah extended his overall lead in the car category, while Sam Sunderland took the motorcycle stage win.
Stage 5 featured a 323 km special stage. Nasser Al-Attiyah continued to dominate the car category, maintaining a comfortable overall lead over his rivals.
The motorcycle portion of Stage 8 was cancelled due to heavy fog and poor visibility conditions, making the route unsafe for riders. The car and truck categories continued with a shortened stage.
Stage 9 covered 409 km with a 313 km special stage. Toby Price took the motorcycle stage win, strengthening his overall lead in the category.
Australian KTM rider Toby Price won the motorcycle category, securing his second Dakar Rally title despite riding with an injured wrist for much of the event.
Kamaz driver Eduard Nikolaev claimed victory in the truck category, continuing the dominance of the Kamaz Master team in the Dakar Rally.
The final stage concluded in Lima. Nasser Al-Attiyah claimed his third Dakar Rally victory in the car category, finishing with a commanding overall lead.
