Season Opener in Australia
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) won the Australian Grand Prix, marking Ferrari's first victory since the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix and the first 1-2 finish for Ferrari since 2010. Lewis Hamilton started from pole but finished second.

Fernando Alonso at the Indianapolis 500
Fernando Alonso skipped the Monaco Grand Prix to compete in the 101st Indianapolis 500, driving for Andretti Autosport. He led 27 laps before retiring with an engine failure, earning the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award.

Baku Collision Controversy
During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Sebastian Vettel deliberately collided with Lewis Hamilton behind the safety car, for which Vettel received a 10-second stop-and-go penalty. Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) went on to win the chaotic race.

Hamilton Wins at Silverstone
Lewis Hamilton won his home race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, from pole position. He also set the fastest lap, achieving a grand slam (pole, win, fastest lap, and led every lap).

Hamilton's Record Pole at Monza
Lewis Hamilton took pole position at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza with a record-breaking lap, surpassing the all-time pole position record previously held by Michael Schumacher. Hamilton went on to win the race.

Season Finale in Abu Dhabi

Mercedes Wins Constructors' Championship
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport secured their fourth consecutive Constructors' Championship, having clinched the title at the United States Grand Prix on October 22. They finished the season with 668 points, well ahead of Scuderia Ferrari.
