The 1959 Formula 1 season was the 13th of the championship. It featured nine races, running from May to December. Australian Jack Brabham won his first World Drivers' Championship, driving for the Cooper team. Cooper-Climax also won the International Cup for F1 Manufacturers. Monaco GP: Brabham's First Win
The season opened at the Monaco Grand Prix. Jack Brabham took his first career victory, leading a Cooper 1-2 finish with teammate Masten Gregory in second.
The Circuit de Monaco is a race course on the streets of Monaco, used for a variety of motorsports over the years. Between 1955 and 1962, this iteration of the course was used, with the start/finish line on the harbour front. In 1963, the start/finish line was moved to the straight approaching Sainte Dévote. French GP: Rear-Engined Dominance

Portuguese GP: Moss's Disqualification

Italian GP: Moss Wins at Monza
Stirling Moss won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza driving a Cooper-Climax T51 for the private Rob Walker Racing Team. Phil Hill finished second for Ferrari.

US GP: Brabham Pushes Car to Title
The inaugural United States Grand Prix at Sebring saw Bruce McLaren win, becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner at the time. Jack Brabham finished fourth after pushing his out-of-fuel car across the line, securing his first World Championship.
