The 1958 Formula 1 season was the 12th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the inaugural World Constructors' Championship, won by Vanwall. The Drivers' Championship was won by Mike Hawthorn, who became the first British driver to win the title. The season was marred by the deaths of Luigi Musso, Peter Collins, and Stuart Lewis-Evans.

Trintignant Triumphs in Monaco
Maurice Trintignant won the Monaco Grand Prix in a Cooper-Climax, navigating the tight street circuit to take his second and final victory in Formula 1.
The Circuit de Monaco is a race course on the streets of Monaco, used for a variety of motorsports over the years. Between 1955 and 1962, this iteration of the course was used, with the start/finish line on the harbour front. In 1963, the start/finish line was moved to the straight approaching Sainte Dévote. Tony Brooks won the German Grand Prix, but Ferrari suffered another tragic loss when British driver Peter Collins crashed and died from his injuries at the Nürburgring.

Sportsmanship at the Portuguese GP
Stirling Moss won the Portuguese Grand Prix. During the race, Mike Hawthorn was initially disqualified but Moss defended Hawthorn's actions, leading to Hawthorn's reinstatement, which ultimately helped Hawthorn win the championship.

Hawthorn Clinches Title in Morocco
Stirling Moss won the Moroccan Grand Prix, but Mike Hawthorn finished second to secure his first and only Drivers' Championship. The race also saw the fatal crash of Stuart Lewis-Evans, who died from burns days later.
